Terms of use and sale
By creating an account or taking a subscription, you accept these terms. They are written to be read.
This is a translation, provided for convenience. The French version is the one that binds, and French law applies.
1. The service
Aurore Meditation (“the app”) offers fifteen-minute guided audio meditations: sessions and programs written for the user from a conversation with Aurore, an artificial intelligence: the texts are generated by a language model and spoken by a generated voice. The publisher is Michaël Joseph, sole trader (537 848 582 R.C.S. Meaux), whose full details appear in the legal notice.
The app is not a medical device and replaces neither medical advice nor psychological care. It makes no promise of results. If you are in distress, contact a health professional, or in France 3114 (national suicide prevention line, free, around the clock).
2. The account
An account is created with an email address; signing in uses a one-time code sent to that address. You are responsible for access to your mailbox. The service is for people aged 16 and over. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
3. Subscriptions
| Plan | What it includes | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | The ritual: one meditation a week, written for you, the same one morning and evening. 4 sessions written per month | €9.90 | €69.99 (five months free) |
| Complete | The whole work: each week, a morning meditation and an evening one, written for you. 8 sessions written per month | €14.90 | €99.99 (five months free) |
| Single sessions | Without a subscription, or on top of your quota: one session (€3.90) or four sessions (€12.90), bought once, never expiring | one-off payment | |
Prices are in euros, free of tax: VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. These are the amounts actually paid, with no tax to add. For a purchase made through the App Store, Apple is the seller for VAT purposes and applies the rules of its own country. A subscription carries no commitment and renews automatically at each term (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. Every thirty days from the subscription date, whether the plan is monthly or yearly, your plan's sessions (4 for Essential, 8 for Complete) are added to your balance. Unused sessions add up and keep for three months from the day they arrived; after that they expire. The ones that expire soonest are used first and, unless you have switched these reminders off, an email warns you a week before a session expires. Moving from Essential to Complete is billed pro rata for the period under way: sessions already written stay counted, and the current month's quota becomes the Complete one.
Sessions bought singly add to your balance and never expire; they are used after your subscription's sessions. They do not grant the morning-and-evening path, which belongs to Complete. A single purchase is not a subscription: it does not renew.
Free trial. Subscriptions may begin with a free trial: 7 days for a monthly subscription, 14 days for a yearly one, one per store account. Nothing is charged during the trial; unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and the store charges its price. An email reminds you two days before the trial ends. During the trial, Aurore writes your whole program, but only the weeks the trial covers are recorded (the first for a monthly plan, the first two for a yearly one): they stay yours, subscribed or not. The following weeks are shown and get their voice with the first payment. If the trial ends without a subscription, their text is erased thirty days later; any subscription taken before then unlocks them. Sessions written during the trial count towards the first month's.
Payment is by in-app purchase, through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Billing, renewal, cancellation, withdrawal and refunds are handled by the store under its own terms: for Apple, from the iPhone's settings and at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Included in the subscription: the music alone. Once a first program has been lived in full, any Essential or Complete subscriber can listen in the app to the piece under the sessions, without the voice. This access is part of the subscription: it stops when the subscription ends and resumes if it is taken again. Listening to it does not count in the ritual.
4. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from the app (Account → Manage my subscription) or, for an in-app purchase, from your iPhone settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, which stays available until its term. Programs already written for you remain listenable in the app after cancellation; only the writing of new programs stops. Unused subscription sessions are then suspended: they become usable again if you subscribe again before they expire. Sessions bought singly stay usable. Access to the music alone stops with the subscription. No refund is due for a period begun, except as set out below.
5. Right of withdrawal
Purchases are made from Apple or Google, who are the sellers: the fourteen-day right of withdrawal under French consumer law is exercised with them, under their terms (for Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com). For any difficulty you can also write to contact@auroremeditation.com.
6. Use
Sessions are for personal use, or for the relative the program was written for. Reselling them, broadcasting them publicly, circumventing technical protections or using the app to obtain unlawful content is forbidden. The publisher may suspend an account in case of manifest abuse, after informing its holder.
7. Intellectual property
The music, the voice, the texts and the app are protected. The texts of your sessions are written for you: you may listen to them in the app, with no time limit, for your personal use; the app does not allow their audio files to be exported; rights over the music and the voice remain with the publisher and its rights holders.
8. Availability and liability
The publisher makes its best efforts for the service to be available and for programs to be written within minutes of the conversation, without guaranteeing it. Its liability is limited to the sums paid over the last twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
9. Personal data
See the privacy policy.
10. Disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you have a complaint, write first to contact@auroremeditation.com; we answer within fifteen days. If no solution is found, you may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator the publisher belongs to: [TO BE COMPLETED: name and contact details of the mediator], or to the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
